Pilot excess insurance covers the deductible (excess) amount a pilot must pay out-of-pocket when an aircraft they are flying suffers damage and a claim is filed under the owner’s “Hull All Risks” insurance policy. It covers a pilot flying aircraft not owned by the, flown under hire and fly, rental, loan or an employment arrangement, or flown while undergoing flight training. Not exceeding the sum insured elected by yourself and subject to a valid claim being lodged against the Hull All Risks policy covering the aircraft.
